This resource is meant to help department coordinators navigate the Fall 2020 course changes.
- Courses with projected enrollment >25 offered online, no action needed. This is the default.
Please note that the OTR spreadsheet was sent out before the cap was moved to 25. If the projected enrollment is >25, just mark as online on the spreadsheet- no other action is needed
- Courses with projected enrollment <=25 NOT offered in dual modality by course design (i.e. online only, in-person only, etc. )
- Enter information in OTR spreadsheet
- Faculty should petition online: use this link – Petition for Exceptions to Dual Modality
- Approvals (Chair, Dean, then Provost). We will let you know when this is done.
- Provost informs OTR.
- If course has never been offered online before, needs approval under Policy 846. Request must be submitted in CIM to change method of instruction to “In Person and Online.”
- Once approved, create a new section of the course and drop enrollment of original section to zero
- Contact students to register for new section. (If students haven’t all dropped after a few days, contact us, and we can drop them.)
- Cancel original section.
- Courses with projected enrollment >25 (but <100) offered in dual modality:
- Enter information in OTR spreadsheet on how to keep individual meeting time to <25
- Faculty should petition to Chair
- Notify Dean – use this link
- Request to Provost
- Provost let’s OTR know of approval
- Courses with projected enrollment <=25 offered in dual modality: no action needed. This is the default.
- Courses that will go online due to instructors not able to teach in person (if enrollment <25)
- Enter information in OTR spreadsheet
- Faculty should petition online: use this link -Exception to Teaching In-Person
- Approvals (Chair, Dean, then Provost). We will let you know when this is done
- Provost informs OTR.
